It is my pleasure to announce a short special guest lecture today, recorded in the following video:
specifically for our class by Dr. Manos Koukoutos who did PhD at EPFL and has been a teaching assistant for this very course!
Manos now works at Google on WebAssembly.

The title and abstract are the following.
WebAssembly in V8/Chrome: Past, Present, and Future
In this talk, I will address three questions regarding WebAssembly from the perspective of a V8 developer. V8 is the JavaScript/WebAssembly engine of Chrome.
- First, why get in the trouble of designing and implementing WebAssembly in the first place?
- Second, what is the current architecture of the V8 WebAssembly compiler?
- Third, what is planned for the future of WebAssembly and what are we currently working on?
I hope you will manage to watch the video and that I will see many of you at 13:45 to say hi, even if you do not have questions on your own.
